Consecutive Numbers
- What it is
- Numbers that sit next to each other, like 17 and 18, in the same draw, plus the gaps between sorted numbers (delta).
- How it is calculated
- We count adjacent pairs in every draw and compare with the exact chance from combinatorics. Delta is each sorted number minus the number before it; the first is counted from zero.
- How to read it
- A draw with one adjacent pair is common (roughly half of all draws have at least one). Many people avoid consecutive numbers on their tickets, yet they appear all the time.
- What it can't tell you
- Consecutive pairs appearing does not predict future pairs.
- Common misunderstanding
- 'Consecutive numbers almost never come up.' About half of draws contain at least one pair.
This site does not guarantee winning. Lottery draws are random and past results do not predict future results. Every chart here describes the past. It cannot raise your chances of winning.
