Multiplier History
- What it is
- The multiplier attached to each draw: Power Play for Powerball, and the built-in multiplier for Mega Millions.
- How it is calculated
- We count how often each multiplier (2x, 3x, 4x, 5x, 10x) was recorded and compare with the official odds. The multiplier is chosen at random before each draw and only changes non-jackpot prizes.
- How to read it
- 2x and 3x are by far the most common; 10x is rare. For Powerball the 10x is only in play when the advertised jackpot is $150 million or less, so it appears less often over the long run.
- What it can't tell you
- Past multipliers say nothing about the next one.
- Common misunderstanding
- 'A 10x must be coming.' Each draw's multiplier is independent.
This site does not guarantee winning. Lottery draws are random and past results do not predict future results. Every chart here describes the past. It cannot raise your chances of winning.
