Repeats from Previous Draw
- What it is
- How many numbers in a draw were also in the previous draw.
- How it is calculated
- We compare each draw with the one before it and count the shared white balls. The expected shares come from the hypergeometric formula.
- How to read it
- Zero or one repeat is by far the most common. Two or more are unusual but do happen.
- What it can't tell you
- It does not tell you whether the next draw will repeat.
- Common misunderstanding
- 'Numbers from the last draw can't come again right away.' They can, and about one draw in a few does repeat a number.
