Bonus Ball
- What it is
- Statistics for the separate bonus ball (the red Powerball or the gold Mega Ball).
- How it is calculated
- We count how often each bonus number was drawn, how long since each was last drawn, how often the bonus was odd or low, and how often it repeated from the previous draw. Expected values come from the number of bonus balls in the machine.
- How to read it
- With only 24-26 bonus numbers every number appears often, so the differences between numbers are small. Compare each value with the black tick.
- What it can't tell you
- The bonus ball is drawn from its own machine, independent of the white balls and of earlier draws.
- Common misunderstanding
- 'The bonus ball that has not appeared for a while is due.' It is not.
